To racing fans in the region the OD name is indeed very familiar. In the guise of OD Racing they have been one of the most prominent local racing outfit to fly the flag for Malaysia. A significant development for OD Alliance (a wholly owned subsidiary of the OD Group of Companies) took place today – an MOU signing with two international brands – Circle K and Krispy Krunchy Chicken. With the signing OD Alliance is to team up with both Circle K and Krispy Krunchy Chicken.
Circle K Malaysia is part of the Circle K International Network, the world’s leading convenience chain with operations in over 15,000 locations in 21 countries, serving over six million customers the world over. Krispy Krunchy Chicken is one of the fastest growing quick serve restaurants in the US with a network of over 2,000 locations, serving Louisiana styled chic ken fried with zero-trans-fat oil with fresh not frozen chicken.
OD Alliance is leveraging on Crispy K Convenience Store and Krispy Krunchy Chicken in the formation of a strategic business collaboration – combining as a family of merchants aiming to open up 50 Circle K and Krispy Krunchy Chicken new stores in Peninsular Malaysia over the next eighteen month period.
During the event OD Racing also unveiled their racing aces Fairuz Fauzy and Tengku Djan Ley plus another unnamed driver, along with their potent looking GT3 race machine – the McLaren 650S GT3 with a 500ps and 500Nm 3.8 Twin Turbo V8 under the hood. The OD Racing race car along with the new drivers line-up will be contesting the Asian Le Mans 2016/2017.
The ultimate aim for OD Racing is to compete in the prestigious 24 Hours of Le Mans, and in order to do so the pre-requisite requires them to win the Asian Le Mans series first. With two of Malaysia’s most accomplished race drivers in Fairuz and Tengku Djan, with a highly successful GT3 race car in the McLaren 650S GT3 at their disposal, few would bet against OD Racing to accomplish both.
