Last week, our social media pages exploded as the Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM) were given the full duties of governing Malaysian motorsports by the FIA. MAM takes the baton from longtime motorsport giant, Automobile Association of Malaysia (AAM).
Run by President Tan Sri Mokhzani Mahathir, MAM intends to cultivate sanctioned motorsports events to boost the country’s motorsport program. “We will do our best to make sure that Malaysian motorsports will get their best from us,” added Tan Sri Mokhzani.
In relation to their appointment, the Idemitsu Asia Talent Cup is up on a pedestal. With the 2020 registrations opening soon, younglings with a motorsport addiction are highly encouraged to take part and stand the chance to be some of the very few talented and elite motorsport athletes in the country. Registrations open this Friday on the 5th of July 2019 and close on the 11th of August 2019.
Well, in a nutshell, AAM has been running the show for over a decade now and people have gotten used to a certain style. With MAM taking over, what kind of a future in motorsports can we expect?
