The Ferrari Classiche Academy is a series of driving course which focuses on various classic cars that helped create the legend of the Prancing Horse and write the history of their era is currently underway. The course is held over two days at the Fiorano Circuit and it enables participants to explore the origins of the Maranello-based company.
The Ferrari Classiche Academy is divided into different track driving modules that will give everyone the chance to familiarise themselves with the vehicle dynamics, the gearbox, the corner management as well as other aspects of driving these cars which are produced before electronics aid entered the automotive world.
Four 308 GTS and GTBi models, all with various mechanical developments from the base models and a Mondial 3.2 are put on the lift for the participants to analyzed as well as a practical introduction of the components used and their technical characteristics. A guided tour of the Officine Classiche Ferrari and the company’s technical archive for the participants to view technical drawings, engineer’s notebooks and race reports for GT and racing cars produced from 1947 onwards.
The participants will also be given track sessions to perform a series of driving sessions which include driving in the wet, counter-steering at speed and managing the vehicle dynamics as well as heel & toe and double clutching.
The second round of the Ferrari Classiche Academy course will start next spring.
