With the many top marquees vying for top billing at this year’s Geneva International Motor Show, Lotus cars looks set to be among them. Jean-Marc Gales, Lotus CEO shall be under the spotlight to unveil the company’s four fastest ever production road cars.
These soon-to-be ‘famous four’ are made up of two new sports car debutants; the absolute fastest ever Elise, the Elise Cup 250 and the already renowned Lotus 3-Eleven that broke the Nurburgring lap record for its class.
The trademark Lotus principle centered around the essence of lightweight is indelibly proven in the Elise Cup 250 – a blindingly quick Cup version of the famous Elise that weighs in at a scant 931kg, which propelled the fastest ever road-going Lotus Elise to a breezy 3.9 seconds 0-60 mph.
As for the 3-Eleven the potent purpose built track tool is specced out to such devastating effect combining feathery lightweight of a mere 890 kg with brute force horsepower of some 460 hp from its 3.5 liter supercharged V6 in race trim. A mind-blowing 2.9 seconds was all it took for the 3-Eleven to reach 100 km/h from a standstill.
The momentous occasion can be shared come March 1st 2016 at 15:45 CET, where you shall find out the principle behind Lotus’ emphasis on why #LightisRight.
