A Reason To Live
It's big, it's red, it's turbocharged and it's quick. I want one.
What gets you going in the mornings? What makes you want to jump out of bed immediately? Is it your job, your girlfriend, or even breakfast? Do you even have anything that you feel is worth waking up for?
The sad fact of the matter is, a majority of us don't have anything which makes us want to jump out of bed anymore. For me, it used to be World of Warcraft when I was still a carefree college student. But growing up and the responsibility of holding a steady job has taken that away from me.
Right now, I only get out of bed because I have to or I'd lose my only source of income. If I were fortunate enough to have this red hot chili pepper in my driveway however, I think I'd get out of bed more readily, unless of course, I had Megan Fox lying next to me in my bed. Hur hur.
This red Skyline is brought to us by Racecraft and Motorsport Division. It may look like a GT-R but in actual fact, it's the GT-R's smaller sibling, the GT-T. Don't scoff, but if you must, I won't stop you. At the end of the day, this GT-T is still one of the prettier Skylines on the road, and no matter what you say, a Skyline is still a Skyline.
The GT-T to GT-R conversion performed on this Skyline is almost flawless and it had me fooled at first, until I had a talk with the owner. The whole conversion was done with original parts, which is what makes this GT-R impostor so convincing. The front and rear bumpers, the front and rear fenders and the headlights were changed in the process of the conversion.
Now that the GT-T looks like a GT-R, it was time to make it move like a GT-R. The original RB25DET still remains stock, with a few carefully selected bolt-on modifications to increase horsepower without sacrificing reliability. The NEO6 RB25DET makes 280bhp at the crank in stock form, and the owner estimates that his GT-T now makes closer to 390bhp at the crank with the mods.
I'll be blunt by saying that stock R34 GT-T wheels are some of the ugliest I've ever seen, and have no place on a car like the Skyline. The stock wheels were quickly replaced with Volk Racing TE37 Limited Edition wheels which have a matt black finish and a red lip which goes really well with the red paint scheme of the car.
Hiding behind the massive 19 inch Volks are Brembo 4-piston calipers and rotors in the front and Brembo 2-piston calipers and rotors in the rear, which were repainted yellow to make them stand out even more.
The cockpit of a Nissan Skyline is a nice place to be, and this one is made even nicer with leather upholstered GT-R seats, done by Motorsport Division, an Auto Select steering wheel, a Nismo gear knob and Nismo carpets. The Nismo package is rounded off with a 320km/h Nismo instrument cluster. Making this daily driven beast an even more enjoyable drive is a fully tricked out sound system from Clarion.
Perhaps calling this car a reason to live is a little over the top, but for someone like me who probably has petrol rather than blood running through my veins, a fast, beautiful and powerful car is all I will ever need.
