2018 is coming to an end so it’s only right that we deserve an automotive treat. Such a treat is here, from 23rd November to 2nd December, in the form of The Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show 2018. It’s been 5 long years since the last KLIMS but rest assured, you will not be disappointed.
Malaysia’s pride and joy city run a bout was certainly making a case for itself as Perodua took the covers off an unexpected Myvi GT. As far as we can tell, the upgrades are only cosmetic but we approve! Check out more on our earlier article on the Myvi GT for more details but the jist of it is that we would love to see this Myvi GT on the streets.
Another local MVP is the Proton X70. The first car to come out of Proton’s ownership change is set to be a real crowd starter given its spec sheet and interior gadgetry. Priced from RM98,000 to RM112,000 we’ve only got one thing to say, look out fellow SUV competitors!
Tri-Diamond legends Mitsubishi is spreading their styling language, BEYOND TOUGH, to the pickup trucks as well. The all new Triton looks absolutely butch (in a good way) and is not something to be messed with. Their responsive and performance oriented 2.4L MIVEC Turbo Diesel engine continues to run the show in the current pickup truck scene.
America’s hit pickup truck, the Raptor is here! Albeit with a less vulgar engine, the Ranger Raptor is now open for booking at just shy of RM200,000. As you can see from our Ford Raptor video on Youtube, it is more than just a pickup truck, more of a lifestyle machine of epic proportions. Oh and the Ford show booth has a tangy 2018 Mustang on display too.
There’s also plenty more glittering shiny cars accompanied with svelte and sexy models. You’ve got a week left so hurry up and get to Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Center (MITEC). The show runs from 11am to 10pm on weekdays and 10am to 10pm on weekends with minimal entree fee.
