AYLEZO ECOTINT RACING SETTLES WITH AN 8TH PLACE FINISH IN BURIRAM

The third leg of the 2016/2017 Asian Le Mans Series held at the 4.554km Chang International Circuit Buriram Thailand saw team Aylezo Ecotint Racing registering a hard fought eighth place finish. The 12 turn Herman Tilke design circuit was already a familiar stomping ground for team Aylezo Ecotint Racing whereas for the likes of Weiron Tan, Riki Christodoulou and their new Ginetta LMP3 racecar, it was an entirely new experience.

Then again during the Free Practice Session the Ginetta LMP3 helmed by Weiron Tan and Riki Christodoulou managed a run of impressive lap times, posting P3 for both FP1 and FP2 sessions. Come the all important qualifying session a little later they continue their stellar display, and despite some major surge in speed by some of the competition, their pretty quick 1:31.448 qualifying lap saw them snatching 7th on the grid  for the first race, on a track they never been before.

Though it will take the team quite an effort to climb through the pack to finish in a satisfying position, they were very determined to fight through the odds in bringing back a well-deserved position for Aylezo Ecotint Racing. Unfortunately, the team encountered some issues which made it a big challenge for them to be competitive in the field. The issue had also forced the team to perform an unscheduled pit stop to resolve the problem and had caused them to be 12 laps behind their rivals.

Armed with the best pit crew they could ever wish for, the issue was resolved and the Ginetta LMP3 quickly thundered its way through the Chang International Circuit. Giving up was never an option for Aylezo Ecotint Racing and they managed to tackle all the challenges head-on to cross the finishing line with an eighth-place finish in class.

The team will gather all their resources to give their best in the fourth and final round as it will be on their home ground at Sepang International Circuit.
