Don’t let yourself be misled by a title. There’s nothing too evil or devil-ish about this car, but as usual, there are always secrets. The fact that the car rolls on huge 20” BBS LM Champion Edition wheels with 245/30 Toyo tyres in front and 285/25 Falken tyres at the rear for traction, can only give hints to what lies under the hood. And then there’s the cross drilled brake rotors and M3 front brakes, which really gets the guessing game going.
It’s obvious that this car is not an M3. That leaves it at a guess between a 330Ci, 328Ci or 325Ci, which in this case is an M-Sport version of the latter. So then you start pondering the reason behind the additional modifications such as the Tein Super Street adjustable coilovers, that’s really, not necessary for a stock-standard Conti.
Under the custom-vented carbon fiber hood, a G-power/Infinitas SK+ supercharger kit is installed towards the front-right quarter of the bay. Although the engine cover has been painted in a bright orange color to match the kit, it remains prominent and isn’t very hard to spot.
Boosting up to 0.6 bar of pressure, the centrifugal supercharger runs off the engine’s main pulley, connected by a drive-belt. Similar to all forced induction systems, compressed air is much hotter and therefore affects the density of the intake charge. To greatly reduce the temperature, the charge has to be first channeled through a series of pipes to an intercooler, before directed to the throttle body. It is later mixed with a fine mist of fuel-spray from a set of racing injectors before combustion.
To manage the fuel supply, the on-board engine management system has been re-flashed and fine-tuned with DME’s software.
Additionally, the chassis’ bushes has been replaced with M3 bushes in front and reinforced with a carbon fiber strut bar from UUC to stiffen up the strut points. At the rear, an Alutec carbon fiber strut bar essentially does the same.
Almost the whole exterior of the car is coated in a glossy black shade of paint, and where it is not, it’s covered in carbon fiber. The Mtech II exterior kit with the addition of custom fabricated wide-fenders that are made out of steel intensifies the look of the car. Then a Rieger Mtech II front lip with custom extensions goes on to accommodate the wider stance, and custom side-skirts that are based on Rieger’s Razor design to match.
The rear boot lid has also been replaced with a shapely carbon fiber CSL trunk. Housed in a custom rear diffuser with ACS add-ons on the rear bumper are quad exhaust tips. At the sides, custom fenders were fabricated to fit the M3 side gills and side markers.
For a little added aerodynamics, the car sports an ACS carbon fiber roof spoiler and carbon wrapped M3 side mirrors. The ‘shark-fin’ antenna was also replaced to a carbon fiber unit.
Inside, the steering wheel, gear knob & boot and E-brake is wrapped in tri-color stitched CF-look leather. The aluminum interior trimmings are finished in gun metal and M-technik sport pedals are installed. The meter cluster gets its own set of gun metal colored gauge-rings, a carbon fiber face panel, red needles and ‘///M’ tag.
A 16:9 monitor takes stage in the center console. Equipped with a TV tuner, the monitor is also linked up to a DVD unit that plays DVDs and MP3s. Powered by a couple of Soundstream amplifiers, a pair of Alpine Type R components sets are placed one in front and the other at the rear. In addition, the rear boot houses a 12” sub-woofer to supplement more bass.
